I'm Christine Pattison —the heart behind Miss Christine's Kitchen.
A Jamaican-born chef and entrepreneur, my journey with food began at the tender age of 9, growing up in Jamaica where cooking wasn't just a skill — it was a way of life. Those early years of learning traditional recipes, flavor, seasoning, and patience shaped the foundation of who I am today.
37 years ago, I migrated to Canada, bringing with me my roots and two young children. After my divorce, I started cooking on weekends to pay the bills. Like many newcomers, the journey wasn't easy — but I stayed focused, worked hard, and held onto my dream of owning a restaurant.
I've been feeding Winnipeg since 2001, starting from home-cooked meals and a passion for authentic Jamaican food. In 2017, I officially established Miss Christine's Kitchen. What started as cooking from home and selling plates quickly grew into something much bigger, and I opened my restaurant — a space where people could experience real Jamaican and international street food made with love, bold flavors, and authenticity. Feeding people is a rare joy to my heart.
Thanks to incredible community support, Miss Christine's Kitchen has been recognized with Winnipeg Community Votes — Best Caribbean Restaurant 6 years straight, Canadian Choice Awards 4 years straight, and Winnipeg Top Choice Jamaican Restaurant 2025 & 2026. I've also had the honor of showcasing my passion on Wall of Chefs and being featured by major media outlets across Canada.
